From an Idea to an Irish Adventure Brand: National Women's Enterprise Day 2026
One week on from National Women's Enterprise Day 2026, we're reflecting on a special milestone in the Éire’s Treasure Trove adventure.
On Thursday, 15 October 2026, Ireland celebrated the 20th anniversary of National Women's Enterprise Day (NWED), recognising women in business and the creativity, determination and ambition behind enterprises across the country. Wexford's event took place at the Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey.
For Éire’s Treasure Trove, it was an opportunity to showcase our growing collection of Irish children's books, original characters, greeting cards, stationery and gifts — and to share the story behind our brand.
Bringing Éire’s Treasure Trove to Life
Founded in Wexford in 2026 by Laura Barry, Éire’s Treasure Trove began with a simple belief:
Adventure begins with being willing to try.
Inspired by curiosity, imagination and the courage to have a go, the business started with children's publishing and is developing into a wider Irish adventure and creative brand.
At National Women's Enterprise Day, visitors could explore a selection of our products, including The Great Boat Escape, Ireland Explorers: Dublin Colouring Adventure, original greeting cards, Cara™ penguin stationery and adventure-inspired gifts.
Seeing these creations brought together in one place was a reminder of how far a simple idea can travel.
From Product Management to Building an Irish Brand
Before founding Éire’s Treasure Trove, Laura spent eight years working in Product Management, developing digital products and improving customer experiences.
That experience continues to influence how the business grows: understanding customer needs, developing ideas, experimenting, learning from feedback and continually improving.
But there's something particularly exciting about taking products you've created yourself into the real world.
From designing a greeting card to publishing a children's book, every new creation involves decisions, challenges, experiments and lessons.
And that's exactly what the Éire’s Treasure Trove brand is about.
Celebrating Women in Business in Wexford
National Women's Enterprise Day provided an opportunity to connect with other women in business, hear different perspectives and celebrate the creativity and determination involved in building something of your own.
We're grateful to Local Enterprise Office Wexford and everyone involved in organising the event and creating opportunities for local businesses to showcase their work.
For a young Irish business, opportunities like these are particularly valuable — not only for visibility, but for learning, connecting and discovering what might come next.
Ideas We Took Home from the Speakers
The day was hosted by Master of Ceremonies Shonagh Lyons of Beat FM, with talks that each left us with something to think about:
- Shonagh Lyons — nailin' it with a fire in your belly.
- Kel Galavan, Mrs Smart Money — Future-Proof Your Finances, and building a business that loves you back.
- Aisling Hurley, Ideas into Impact — perception, connections and bravery.
What We Learned at the Stand
One of the most useful lessons of the day came from the stand itself: products on a table only tell part of the story.
Next time, we'll share more of the Éire’s Treasure Trove brand and story as part of the display — so the people who stop by can discover the adventure behind the books, cards and gifts, not just the products themselves.
Made for Adventurers
Éire’s Treasure Trove is about more than books or gifts.
It's about encouraging curiosity, celebrating creativity and recognising that trying something new is an adventure in itself.
Our stories and activities invite children to explore, imagine and participate, while our photography, greeting cards, stationery and gifts celebrate the humour, personality and optimism of everyday adventures.
Our vision is simple:
A world where we are curious enough to explore, brave enough to try and confident enough to know that getting it wrong is always part of the journey.
National Women's Enterprise Day was another step in our own adventure — and we're looking forward to the next one.
